If there is one clear trend that defines Wing’s progress in 2022, it’s that this is the year when we began to see what drone delivery at scale can really look like.

Across three continents, we took steps in 2022 that will help us expand this type of drone delivery service to more locations. We launched our store-to-door operating model, which sees a small fleet of drones operate directly from existing retail locations, in diverse locations such as a Coles grocery store in Australia, a shopping mall in Helsinki, and a Walgreens pharmacy in Dallas. We brought on new partners, including DoorDash and Coles. And we expanded our operations to new locations, including to Ireland, Dallas, and further within Australia.

There was perhaps no better example of drone delivery’s potential than Logan, Australia, the site of our largest delivery operation. In a service area of roughly 70,000 people, there were days in 2022 when we made over 1,000 deliveries – about one delivery every 25 seconds.

This last year was a busy one for Wing, but we’ve got a lot more planned for 2023. Check out some of our 2022 highlights in the video below.
