After a decade of development, testing, and trials, 2021 was the year that drone delivery took off. Wing made more than 140,000 deliveries to customers in 2021, a more than 600% increase over 2020. Growth of our existing services accelerated through the year, and interest in new services has never been greater.

In a quick “around the world” in 2021: In Australia, we built the world’s first rooftop drone delivery nest in partnership with one of the nation’s leading retail property groups, Vicinity Centres, in Logan, Queensland. In the United States, we’re preparing to launch our first US metro drone delivery service in Dallas, Texas, with operations co-located and integrated with local retail locations. To make it easier for drone flyers to request permission to fly in controlled airspace, we released OpenSky, our free drone-flyer app in the US

Our proudest achievement in 2021 was delivering to the tens of thousands of customers we serve in the US, Australia, and Finland. We love hearing from our customers about how Wing has become a part of their daily lives, and we’re continually inspired by their passion and creativity. Thanks to suggestions from our customers, we delivered America’s first cup of hot coffee via drone, and elevated Girl Scout cookie delivery to new heights. Even the creativity of our littlest fans left us seriously impressed!

We’ve created a little reel of some special moments in 2021 - we hope you enjoy it.
