Wing’s newest local merchant partner, Krofne, is serving up donuts for good. Customers in the Canberra suburbs of Crace, Palmerston, and Franklin will be able to order freshly baked donuts, through the Wing app, and have them delivered by drone directly to their home.

Krofne does donuts with a difference — it’s a social enterprise that provides meaningful employment for people with special needs. Founded in 2016, Danijela and John Vrkic were inspired to create Krofne by their son, Anthony, who has Down syndrome. The couple started the family business with a vision that Anthony would be fully involved in the production, sale, and distribution of Krofne’s European-style donuts.

As Danijela told us: “I’m glad to be able to use the recipe to create employment opportunities, not only for my son, but others with special needs in our community. We often say we don’t employ people to bake donuts, we bake donuts to employ people and partnering with Wing will give us the chance to access more customers and expand our operations across Canberra.”

“At Krofne we love baking a difference and we’re delighted to be partnering with Wing to deliver our donuts by drone and expand our reach to more customers.”

Wing launched in Canberra in April, and our current offerings include Kickstart Expresso, Pure Gelato, Jasper + Myrtle Chocolates, Bakers Delight, Guzman Y Gomez, and Drummond Golf.
